The "Sustainable Consumption Research and Action Initiative" (SCORAI) network's next conference will take place in Wageningen, Netherlands, between 5-8 July 2023. The focus of the conference is on "Transforming Consumption-Production Systems Toward Just and Sustainable Futures". The EU 1.5° Lifestyles project consortia plans to be there and is happy to connect with you!
As the SCORAI website explains, the 2023 conference will "provide a platform for exploring a wide range of practices, experiences, and policy initiatives in the context of cutting-edge interdisciplinary sustainable consumption and production research". The conference aims to move beyond a sole academic focus, towards transformative change, with both academics and practitioners invited to take part. The call invites business representatives, innovators, policymakers, activists, and members of communities engaged in sustainable consumption initiatives to take part and share their knowledge. The conference organisers particularly "encourage discussion and reflection on the links and gaps between theory and practice", in order to connect research and action on sustainable consumption and production with strategies for transformative change.
The EU 1.5° Lifestyles consortia is planning to take part in the conference through multiple presentations and a special session. We plan to present the work we have done as part of our Citizen Thinking Labs, and Stakeholder Thinking Labs, as well as our research on structural barriers to the needed 1.5° transformation (look out for our social media campaign on structural barriers to transformation starting in February 2023!).
If you are also planning to attend - do come and say hello! We look forward to discussing our project results - and transformative change more widely! - with you!
The EU 1.5° Lifestyles project is also one of the projects highlighted by SCORAI Europe. Other projects in the SCORAI Europe network include our sister projects ENERGISE and EnergyPROSPECTS.
Many project partners, researchers and practitioners in the EU 1.5° Lifestyles project are part of the SCORAI and SCORAI Europe networks. You can also become a member of SCORAI Europe (for free) here.
See you in Wageningen!
