Laura is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Environmental Sciences (CML) at Leiden University. Her research focuses on sustainable food and overall consumption, developing and applying methods like life cycle assessment and multi-regional input-output analysis. Her main interests lie in impacts on climate change, water scarcity, biodiversity, and animal welfare. She is serving as a member of the Life Cycle Initiative hosted by UN Environment and the scientific committee of the International Conference on Life Cycle Assessment of Food. She received her PhD in 2016 from ETH Zurich.

Laura aspires to a sustainable lifestyle for the environment and animals. She enjoys a vegan diet and cycling to work.
